GBBN recently recognized the leadership of four employees whose passion and dedication advance our work, support our colleagues, and drive positive change within the company.

Katie Coulson is an interior designer and co-leader of GBBN’s Project Delivery Group who actively navigates the complexities of project workflow while identifying and implementing best practices that can enhance our work. Katie combines technical proficiency with approachability to lead teams and clients to ensure they are working in alignment, communicating well, and delivering excellent work. Calm and grounded in any situation, Katie instills confidence in clients and colleagues.

Shan Jiang has expanded GBBN’s research capabilities by establishing partnerships with universities and professional organizations like Clemson University, University of Kentucky, and Human Factors Transforming Healthcare Network. By actively engaging others and conveying complex data with ease and clarity, Shan helps people see the benefit of research and how to apply it in our projects. Naturally curious and using a rigorous process, Shan approaches every situation with a problem-solving mentality and guides others to do the same.

Michael Rensing makes complex problems simple and delivers technical information in a way that makes it accessible to all. He collaborates with project teams in all markets to leverage technology and Building Information Management (BIM) to develop project solutions. He stays on the leading edge of technology changes, proactively evaluating new tools and software to help us work more efficiently and safely.

Phil Rowland is a creative problem solver who stays focused on our clients’ needs and how our communications can best align with their goals. He co-leads GBBN’s environmental graphic design practice and finds resourceful ways to engage with project teams across the firm. An adept translator, Phil quickly distills the core idea and clearly communicates it to others.
