GBBN Associate, Mel Ngami has been on a bit of a tear lately.

After earning her licensure (a multi-year, multi-test endeavor) and winning AIA Pennsylvania’s Associate Award in the last half of 2022, Mel was recently recognized as part of Pittsburgh Business Times’ class of 30 Under 30.

Designed to recognize young business and community leaders in the region who are making an impact, the Pittsburgh Business Times runs a profile on each honoree.

Mel’s feature describes her unexpected journey into the field of architecture, her design interests, and her work with the Pittsburgh chapter of the National Organization of Minority Architects (NOMA) to make the field more inviting and supportive of minorities.

“I’m grateful for this recognition,” Mel says. “I’m happy to connect with some interesting people who are doing good work around the city, and I’m hoping we can use those connections to improve Pittsburgh together.”
