GBBN’s Oncology Symposium Looks to the Future of Cancer Care

GBBN recently hosted a virtual symposium about the future of cancer care.

Convening oncology practitioners, administrators, researchers, and healthcare designers, the event consisted of two roundtable discussions of the most important market challenges and trends shaping the future of oncology.

The panels featured wide-ranging conversations, touching on questions about how to allocate resources and deliver services, how to cultivate staff resilience and foster patient engagement, and the role of design in supporting staff and patients.

“I love that the panelists illustrated the impact of cancer beyond physical health,” says GBBN Principal, Angela Mazzi, FAIA, FACHA, EDAC. “Whether you know a lot or a little about cancer care, the panelists made the issues facing care delivery accessible and understandable.”

GBBN’s Director of Healthcare, Michael Lied, LEED AP, agrees. “We’re fortunate to be able to bring together so many leaders from across the industry in conversation. Connecting designers with healthcare professionals will help solve challenges facing the cancer care providers and benefit those touched by cancer.”
