How we work
Sustainability & Resilience
Good design is sustainable design. When your facilities perform well and are resilient, your organization’s people can excel, and more money goes toward your mission instead of your utility bills.
People thrive in healthy and supportive environments. Making buildings that are comfortable, functional, long-lasting, and easy to operate enriches lives and supports our ecosystem and environment.
Approach
Easy to operate, comfortable, welcoming.
We design these qualities into our projects at the earliest possible moment to have the greatest impact on your organization, your people, your long-term operational costs, and our environment. We study project location and proximity to public transportation, food sources, and walkable amenities; analysis of massing and building orientation; placement of windows to capture daylight, reduce glare, and maintain thermal comfort.
Net Zero by 2030
As signatories of the American Institute of Architects 2030 Commitment, we’ve pledged to design all our projects to achieve Net Zero Energy by 2030 and Net Zero Carbon by 2050. We use Passive House strategies to boost insulation and eliminate thermal bridges, so buildings are comfortable to be in no matter where you sit, walk, or eat. We help clients leverage the carbon stored in their existing buildings through adaptive reuse strategies and designs that work with efficient and resilient energy systems.
IRA Calculator
Our Inflation Reduction Act Calculator can help clients identify opportunities for grants and tax incentives that can impact design and help them save operating costs over the life of their facility.
27 LEED Accredited Professionals
