The Great Unknown
GBBN will be presenting with Carnegie Mellon University at Tradeline’s University Facilities Conference in Scottsdale, Arizona on April 24.
Planning new research space prior to building users being identified is a challenge faced by many institutions. At Tradeline’s 2023 University Facilities Conference GBBN’s Matthew Plecity and Zachary Zettler will walk participants through the different solutions adopted by Carnegie Mellon University and the University of Cincinnati that support innovative work styles and contextualized approaches to researcher collaboration. They’ll be joined by Carnegie Mellon University Architect, Bob Reppe, and will share strategies that catalyze out-of-lab collaboration, attract and retain researchers, maximize flexibility, and anticipate future users and research disciplines that aren’t known yet. The presentation will also examine key success factors for both on-campus and off-campus models.
Two institutions, two different approaches to solving the same challenge: how to design research space for an ever-evolving user group.
See you in Scottsdale!
